Arma 3 Server Hosting

NorthHost hosts your Arma 3 server from €3.99/month, on Intel Xeon Gold at 3.70 GHz or Ryzen 9 7950X at 4.50 GHz. Unlimited Steam Workshop mods, up to 400 GB of NVMe for your modpacks, headless clients to offload the AI, DDoS protection included and support 7 days a week.

Our Arma 3 plans

Two ranges, five plans each, from an evening with friends to a unit running several operations at once. Intel for the best price-to-resources ratio, Ryzen when the map fills up with AI.

Which plan for your unit?

The right size depends mostly on your modpack and on how many AI units live on the map.

Why run an Arma 3 dedicated server?

Because a unit needs ground that is still standing between two operations.

Your modpack and your mission, always up

Arma 3 is rarely played vanilla. A serious unit loads CBA, ACE, TFAR, a map pack and two or three equipment packs, which adds up to tens of gigabytes that have to reach everyone in exactly the same state. Run from a home PC, a single mod update is enough to end the evening.

On a dedicated server your mod list is fixed, your mission keeps running between sessions, and your players connect whenever they want. You keep control of the launch line, the mission files and persistence.

Arma3 in detail

An evening with friends : Vanilla, or two or three mods, around twenty players. 4 GB is more than enough.

Milsim unit : CBA, ACE and TFAR loaded permanently, around forty players on prepared operations.

Antistasi or Exile : Hundreds of persistent AI units and a community that runs past fifty players.

Regular operations : The server plus one or two headless clients on the same machine, so the AI stops weighing on the simulation.

Several servers : A public server, a preparation server and a large mod arsenal living side by side.

Unlimited mods : Workshop or FTP upload, no quota on our side

Headless clients : The AI moved onto its own process

ACE and TFAR : Full milsim, radio included

Ready in 3 min : Automatic deployment once you order

Frequently asked questions

How much RAM does an Arma 3 server need?

A vanilla server with around twenty players fits in 4 GB. Budget 8 GB as soon as you load a milsim modpack with CBA, ACE and TFAR, and 16 GB for Antistasi, Exile or a community of more than fifty players, because it is the persistent AI units that push memory up over the course of a session. Above that, the memory mostly goes to running headless clients alongside the server.

Why is there so much disk space in your plans?

Because Arma 3 mods are enormous, and disk is the first thing to run out on this game. RHS weighs about ten gigabytes, CUP more, and a serious community modpack regularly passes 40 GB once everything is in place. Thirty gigabytes is fine for vanilla but not for a modded server, so our plans start at 60 GB and go up to 400 GB, to make sure the disk is never what stops you.

What is a headless client, and do I need one?

A headless client is a second Arma process that connects to your server and takes over the AI calculations. The server keeps the world simulation while the headless client handles the units, which changes everything on a mission like Antistasi that keeps hundreds of units alive. It needs its own core and its own memory, which is why our Bataillon and Opération plans are sized to run the server and one or two headless clients on the same machine.

Can I install Steam Workshop mods?

Yes, with no limit on the number. You enter the Workshop IDs from the panel or upload the folders over FTP, then enable them in the server launch line. Remember to hand the same mod list to your players, otherwise they will be refused on connection: it is the single most common reason for a support ticket on this game.

Antistasi, Exile, King of the Hill: does all of it work?

Yes. You have full control over the mission files, the server configuration and the launch line. For Exile or Altis Life, which need persistence, a MySQL database and extDB3 are straightforward to set up: open a ticket before ordering so we can settle on the right plan together for the player count you are aiming at.

How many players can connect?

The slot count is set in your own configuration and we do not charge for it. In practice the limit comes from the mission and the processor rather than from us: past 60 or 80 players on an AI-heavy mission, the simulation gives way before the bandwidth does. So we do not advertise a stable 128-slot server, because that would be selling you a number rather than a result.

How do I migrate my existing Arma 3 server?

Connect over FTP from the panel and upload your mission folders, your server profile, your mods and your configuration files. Your difficulty settings, your admin lists and your database all carry over. If you would rather not touch any of it, open a ticket: our support team does the move free of charge.

How long does it take to deploy my server?

Your Arma 3 server is delivered automatically in under 3 minutes once payment is confirmed. Your access details arrive by e-mail straight after.

How do I change plan if my needs grow?

You can move up to a larger Arma 3 plan at any time from your client area: the change is immediate and you only pay the pro-rata difference. A smaller plan takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

How do I access my server after ordering?

The delivery e-mail contains the IP address, the port, the FTP details and the link to the panel. That information also stays available in your client area.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are issued as credit on your client area balance, which can be used on any of our services. Write to support through a ticket to request one.
